The Barton house embodies the concept of tropical brutalism formed in geometric shapes and exposed interiors. Notable breeze blocks give contrast to the solid structure at the same time allow the wind to pass without too much exposure from outside, showcasing the grand staircase from the façade.

The double floor height of the grand entrance between two blocks wrapped in glass allows the light to flow throughout the interior, which features exposed concrete and wooden detailing, and is meant to serve as a "blank canvas" for a variety of tactile, colorful objects and furnishings.
